Remarks: Yellow firemouth cichlids (Thorichthys pasionis), also known as black gullet cichlids, can be treated in much the same way as you would a firemouth - a 40-gallon tank or larger will suffice for a pair or small group. They can be kept with small or medium Central American cichlids as well as peaceful South American cichlids. Livebearers such as swordtails make for excellent dithers in a breeding tank.
