Blue Flash Hap (Sciaenochromis sp.)
Remarks: The blue flash hap (Sciaenochromis sp.) is a off throw of the German line-bred variety of the pink flash and was created when we were breeding our pink flash and started seeing the blue offspring. We then separated out the babies showing the blue coloration and we are now line breeding the blue flash strain. There is a quite of bit of difference between the blue flash males, some with more blue, red, and yellow on the body. So if you are looking for something new to add to your all male peacock or hap tank, these would be a great choice!
They are fairly peaceful cichlids and make great tankmates for peacocks and haps. Females are a grayish blue, while males have a primarily bright blue body with red iridescence on the scales and a yellow blaze. It is important to know that this is a man-made strain of fish and there is a lot of difference in the colors of these fish.
We have some electric blue fryeri throw-offs from this line available now. These fish have less white, red, and yellow color compared to others in the line. Instead, they have a far deeper blue coloration with a thin white blaze at the top of the dorsal fin. These fish are listed here on this listing as electric blue fryeri "Blue Flash."
